Monday Music: “Two” by The Antlers

It’s gloomy outside and I haven’t been feeling very good for over a week now. Think I got an ear infection and the lenses on my glasses have started to crack. Yay…more medical bills I don’t have money for. Considering my mood, I decided to going with something a bit more emo this week with my choice of “Two” by The Antlers. Great video, wonderful animation and a fantastic song that will get stuck in your head even if it’s a bit depressing.

Before I go, I was just wondering if this video reminds anyone else of either Yellow Submarine or School House Rock. Weird combination I know, but that’s what I think of everytime I watch it…

3D Dot Game Heroes Announced for Release in 2010

Atlus announced yesterday that it will be releasing 3D Dot Game Heroes for the PS3 in May of 2010. Judging from the trailer for it, this action RPG game from development company “From Software” appears to have one of the most unique design aesthetics to come down the pike in a long time. The game utilizes a blocky retro 8-bit style reminiscent of the early days of gaming while at the sametime bringing dressing up those same dated designs by rendering them in a fully realized 3D world. It’s like a LEGO fan’s wet dream come to life.

3D Dot Game Heroes will retail for $39.99 and is currently scheduled for release on May 11, 2010. 3D Dot Game Heroes is already available for pre-order at Gamestop

Microsoft to Finish Borg Conversion of 360 Owners Today

All new Xbox Live experiance - results not typical

The Xbox Live update is officially live and full of all sorts of goodness. The new update not only includes the addition of a free music service, Last.fm, but it also includes the option to integrate your Xbox Live account with your Twitter or Facebook account. Lastly, the new update now offers access to the “Zune store” which offers the grand opportunity to stream HD movies with 5.1 surround sound directly to your Xbox for the low, low price of whatever they feel like charging you for it.

Currently, I don’t have any plans to make use of the Twitter and Facebook integration because I’m already becoming annoyed with people who are using it spam up their feeds with automatic posts telling everyone what they’re playing. No thanks, I don’t want to be that big of a douchebag. As for the Zune store, I’m going to use it about as much as I used the original video download service from Microsoft, i.e. NEVER. Sure, Netflix doesn’t offer 5.1 surround sound (yet), but I guarantee I get far more bang for my buck then I will ever get from the Zune store.

Perhaps the only thing I was excited about in this update was the Last.fm service. I love streaming music off the internet, but ever since I sold off my desktop, the only time I get to listen to it is if I’m on my laptop. Now that I can access a streaming music network through my 360, I expect much happiness to ensue…as long as I don’t inadvertantly set myself up for the red ring of death or something because I’m using my console too much =^_^;;= Oh well, I guess that’s why I bought that spiffy extended warranty…

Oh yeah, on one last note, I just want everyone to know that for the first time in my adult life the internet has failed me when it comes to the subject of perversion. After much searching over the weekend, I was very surprised to discover that I could not find a single hentai picture of someone being tentacle raeped by an Xbox 360! Seriously, what is up with that? ;P

Monday Music: “Londinium” by Ralph Watson

Sorry I’m a little bit late getting today’s installement of Monday Music up. I had a busy weekend and I just never got around to getting the post done ahead of time. Oh well, such is life. :P

Anyway, today’s song is Londinium by the rap artist Ralph Watson. My good friend “Lord Haggis”, a.k.a Jessie Lewis, was kind enough to send me a link to this video about a month ago. The song is decent, but what really hooked me was the video. Anytime you go so far as to have women with heads shaped like speakers and a giant robot tromping through the streets of London, I’m automatically interested. Hope you find it as entertaining as I did. =^_^=

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I just got an email from SEGA with a early access code for the Bayonetta demo. Hmm…I wonder if the demo includes the one handed masturbation super easy mode that’s supposed to be in the final game. You know, so players can have time to fully appreciate all the action that’s happening on the screen and is totally not for the people who just want to see just oggle the main character’s naked body during special attacks… =^_^;;=

Spotlight: “Fumiko’s Confession” by Ishida Hiroyasu

Fumiko’s Confession, a.k.a. Fumiko no Kokuhaku, is an independantly produced video created by Ishida Hiroyasu. I wasn’t able to turn up a whole lot about the creator himself (mostly because I can’t read Japanese =^_^;;=), but according to an article over at Anime News Network, he is a 21 year old Japanese student and aspiring animator. Although, he has previously produced and uploaded samples of his animation work to YouTube in the past, Fumiko’s Confession is his best work to date.

To view some of his older videos, check out his YouTube page. You can also view animation stills, production related artwork, and a variety of other items on his personal webpage. Lastly, if you would like to see an English translated version of the film, go here. Just make sure to turn on the close captioning feature on the bottom right hand side of the video.
