Got a press release last week reminding me of the upcoming retail release of the Bokurano: Ours manga to store shelves next week. The best part is that for you cheap bastards out there who are too good to actually pay for your manga, you can read the first volume for free on VIZ’s online manga website, SigIKKI. Be forewarned though, if the manga is anything like the anime series it’s most definitely not a series for people who despise crying like a little girls.

To learn more about the series, hit the jump to read the full press release from VIZ. To go ahead and begin reading the free version of the manga, just head on over to SigIkki.com.

I originally had some rocking hardcore metal scheduled for today, but then I remembered that Valentine’s Day is this weekend. Luckilyfor me, I stumbled across this wonderful Touhou Project PV while trying to find a suitable replacement. I’ve absolutely fallen in love with this song and, in my mind, it’s the perfect fit for a holiday that can be just as much about simply being there for the people who are important to you as it js about romance .

Of course the downside of all this is that I spent the rest of the day watching Touhou Project videos on YouTube and I’m now officially addicted. I’m maybe a few years behind the curve on this one, but what the hell, it’s never to late to become a fan of something awesome. :P Don’t be surprised if some other Touhou Project videos wind up on here in the coming months =^_-=

Look at the size of that thing! I think even the most adventurous womanfolk in the audience would think twice before taking on that things… =^_^;;= Seriously though, the more I see of 3D Dot Game Heroes, the more excited I get about it. It’s impressive mix of modern 3D rendering techniques mixed with old school gaming aesthetics continues to look better every time I see it. Add in the cheaper then usual price ($39.99) and I can’t wait till May 11th! =^_^=

I wasn’t really sure if I would be interested in this manga when I first saw it on a list of upcoming releases last month. The plot summary piqued my interest with it’s talk of zombies in a high tech sci-fi setting, but the overall story premise didn’t exactly sound ground breaking by any means. Still, after seeing the stunning cover art and checking out a sample pages I tracked down on the web, I do believe I’ll probably be picking this title up the next time I visit my local bookstore.

Monday Music: “Keep it Gay” performed by Nathan Lane, Matthew Broderick and Gary Beach

I had planned on posting a video clip of Uma Thurman sing “When You Got It, Flaunt It” from the 2005 version of The Producers movie starring Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick, but unfortunately I came up empty handed on YouTube. Had the same problem when I tried to find the original scene from “Keep it Gay.” Thankfully, I did finally find this fairly decent AMV though that combines the film audio for “Keep it Gay” with footage from the Gravitation anime. Seems like it worked out pretty well, if you ask me.

BTW, if you haven’t seen The Producers yet, go do so NOW! I don’t even like musicals that much and I LOVED this movie. I sooooo want to see it live on Broadway… =T_T=
