I had originally just been planning on adding a few of my favorite Portal related videos to the article I posted this past Saturday, but then I came across this awesome music video. After watching it, I just knew that I had to use it for this week’s installment of Monday Music. Both the video and the song work perfectly together capture the essence of what made Portal such a wonderful experiance. As an added bonus, you can download the MP3 for free from Tindeck if you follow the link at the bottom of this article. Enjoy!
Spotted this yesterday, but I was to busy playing Borderlands to take the time to post about it. Now that I’ve gotten my gaming fix (for the moment), I wanted to get this bit of awesome news out of the door in case you haven’t heard it yet. According to several posts around the ‘net, including GI’s official website naturally, the April issue of Game Informer will contain a twelve page article on Valve’s sequal to the 2007 game, Portal. The teaser article promises that the April issue will contain details about new gameplay mechanics and details on the new story. It also adds that Portal 2 will be a full-fledged sequal as opposed to the original’s bite-sized portions which left most players ravenous for more.
To see large versions of the spiffy cover art being used for the April issue, just head on over to the Game Informer website. It’s also worth noting that Game Informer has set up a Portal 2 hub page that promises to update with new articles through the month of March.
Look at the size of that thing! I think even the most adventurous womanfolk in the audience would think twice before taking on that things… =^_^;;= Seriously though, the more I see of 3D Dot Game Heroes, the more excited I get about it. It’s impressive mix of modern 3D rendering techniques mixed with old school gaming aesthetics continues to look better every time I see it. Add in the cheaper then usual price ($39.99) and I can’t wait till May 11th! =^_^=
BTW, if your not up to date on the whole 3D Dot Game Heroes hubbub, go here for more info.
If things were the way they should be, all I would have to say in this post would be “IT’S MOTHERF*CKIN’ MASS EFFECT 2, BITCHES!” To which all of you would reply, “HELLZ YEAH!!” and that would be the end of it. Unfortunetely, we don’t live in that world, so I have to spell it out for some of you with the above trailer.
I should have lots of new content next week, so I hope you will bear with me this week as I proceed to get my ME2 on. On some related notes, I just want to say that if you haven’t already purchased the Collector’s Edition, good luck to you. I couldn’t find it anywhere locally and I’m really pissed at Gamestop right now for not even taking preorders for it (or not taking enough orders for it…I keep hearing conflicting stories) =-_-X= Secondly, if you plan to buy the game, DO IT NOW! The first run of the game comes with a free code for the Cerberus Network which will be a source of free in-game content from BioWare. If you don’t get a copy with the free code, you will have to purchase it on Xbox Live for $15.
BioWare has announced that they have had to delay their planned release of the “Return to Ostagar” DLC today and by announced, I mean that they made a post on their community forum and hoped no one would notice. No reason has been given for the delay and no new date has been announced. Boo!
In related news, BioWare has also so announced that a new Dragon Age expansion pack, titled “Awakenings,” will be seeing a release to retail stores in the coming months. Preorder information is already available at Gamestop for the retail pack as well as various details concerning new additions to the game and plot line info. The March 16 release date is considered unconfirmed at this time.
