Call me a sap, but when it comes to the three CDs worth of christmas tunes produced by Trans-Siberian Orchestra, my favorite has to be “Old City Bar.” Their biggest song, “Sarajevo 12/24,” gets all the airtime on the radios, but I don’t really consider that an original song from them since it was originally released by the founders of Trans-Siberian Orchestra on the “Dead Winter Dead” album under their original band name, Savatage. (It’s a bit more complicated then that, but I’m not going to go into that here :P)
Anyway, the song comes from their first CD, “Christmas Eve and Other Stories,” and all the song on the disc help tell a large story about an angel coming down from heaven in search of gifts for the Lord. All in all, it’s the best CD ever released by Trans-Siberian Orchestra, but that’s just my opinion XD.
