The Xbox Live update is officially live and full of all sorts of goodness. The new update not only includes the addition of a free music service, Last.fm, but it also includes the option to integrate your Xbox Live account with your Twitter or Facebook account. Lastly, the new update now offers access to the “Zune store” which offers the grand opportunity to stream HD movies with 5.1 surround sound directly to your Xbox for the low, low price of whatever they feel like charging you for it.
Currently, I don’t have any plans to make use of the Twitter and Facebook integration because I’m already becoming annoyed with people who are using it spam up their feeds with automatic posts telling everyone what they’re playing. No thanks, I don’t want to be that big of a douchebag. As for the Zune store, I’m going to use it about as much as I used the original video download service from Microsoft, i.e. NEVER. Sure, Netflix doesn’t offer 5.1 surround sound (yet), but I guarantee I get far more bang for my buck then I will ever get from the Zune store.
Perhaps the only thing I was excited about in this update was the Last.fm service. I love streaming music off the internet, but ever since I sold off my desktop, the only time I get to listen to it is if I’m on my laptop. Now that I can access a streaming music network through my 360, I expect much happiness to ensue…as long as I don’t inadvertantly set myself up for the red ring of death or something because I’m using my console too much =^_^;;= Oh well, I guess that’s why I bought that spiffy extended warranty…
Oh yeah, on one last note, I just want everyone to know that for the first time in my adult life the internet has failed me when it comes to the subject of perversion. After much searching over the weekend, I was very surprised to discover that I could not find a single hentai picture of someone being tentacle raeped by an Xbox 360! Seriously, what is up with that? ;P
