Disney Releases Hayao Miyazaki’s “Ponyo” Today. Studio Ghibli Fans Practically Orgasmic.

Yes, it’s true. The newest film from Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli finally releases today here in the U.S. Known as “Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea” in Japan, the American release has been shorted to just “Ponyo.” The film will be released simultanously on both DVD and Blu-ray, but sadly Disney has chosen to screw Blu-ray fans by denying them the chance at something similiar to the special deluxe DVD edition release that comes complete with a cute Ponyo plushie.

Anyway, the film looks to be awesome and set to be another classic. I suggest you run out and score yourself a copy today…even if it means pushing down that old woman in the video store who was just wanting a copy for her kids to watch tonight. Not that I’m saying I did anything like that. I’m just saying that old biddy was trying to keep me from my Ponyo and she got what was coming to her…

Monday Music: “Epic Super Mario Land Rap” by Duane Zwuala & The_A2A24

I realized the other day it’s been awhile since I last posted anything nerdcore related, so I decided to rectify that today with this delightfully awesome Super Mario rap song. Simply titled “Epic Super Mario Land Rap,” this video is collaborative work between Duane Zwuala (vocals and instruments) and someone named “The_A2A24″ (video and editing). I don’t have any other info on the duo other then what was posted at the beginning of the video and my google search didn’t turn up much of anything. It’s a shame really since I would have liked to have known if they have any other videos or songs out there…

*Update: 03/06/10*

I received a note earlier this week from gentleman by the name of Anthony Ruybalid informing me that the artist for this song operates under the handle of “Action Adventure World.” He was also kind enough to send me a link for their official YouTube page. Hurray!

It’s also worth mention that Anthony runs a pretty spiffy website that focus’ on game related music. Check it out for yourself over at gamemusic4all.com

Have No Fear, Good Citizens! I’m Only Sick, Not Dead…

Funny Pictures of Cats With Captions

The above pic really says it all. I’m been down for the count for the last two days and have been feeling ill most of the week. I finally broke down yesterday and admitted that I was going to have to go to the doctor. I hate going to the doctor. It costs me money. Money that could have been used toward the purchase of a new figma figure or a new videogame. This makes me angry. Unfortunately for me, my anger does not magically heal me like it does for the Hulk =T_T=

Anyway, expect nothing from me until next week. Hopefully, if I feel better this weekend, I’ll have some reviews for you to read next week along with whatever news happens to catch me interest. That is all for now. Carry on being nerdy without me, good citizens and know that soon I will be rejoining you!

Monday Music: “Uninstall” by Chiaki Ishikawa

Considering how much time I’ve spent lately talking up the Bokurano manga, I figured it was time I posted some video from the anime too. Not only is the anime awesome, but it has an awesome opening song as well. Titled “Uninstall,” this hauntingly beautiful song by Chiaki Ishikawa will be stuck in your head for days.

Your welcome. XP

I do apologize for the poor quality of the video, but I felt the opening made a better impact when the translated lyrics were included. Make sure to watch it in 480p if possible, it cuts down on the squinting =^_^;;= Anyway, if you’d like to hear the full version of the song and/or oggle the beautiful Japanese lady who sings it, check out the original PV from Japan that I’ve so thoughtfully posted after the jump. (Because I’m awesome like that =^_-=). Enjoy!
